Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes
Ingredients
- 1½ pounds (680 g) extra-lean ground turkey
- 1 small yellow onion, , finely diced
- 1 cup (149 g) diced green bell pepper
- ½ cup (120 mL) ketchup
- ¼ cup (60 mL) mustard
- ¼ cup (50 g) dark brown sugar
- Gluten-free hamburger buns
- Cheese, , pickles, or other toppings of choice
Instructions
- Use a 4-quart slow cooker. There is no need to brown the meat before placing it into the slow cooker. Add all ingredients to the pot, and stir well to combine.
- Cover, and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for about 4 hours. Stir well to break up clumps before serving in toasted gluten-free hamburger buns. Top with sliced cheese and pickles, or toppings of choice.
