extra-virgin olive oil

medium shallots
thinly sliced

Brussels sprouts
trimmed and halved

chicken or vegetable broth

pitted and chopped dates
Sea salt and black pepper
to taste
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the shallots and cook, stirring often, for 3-5 minutes until soft.
Add the Brussels sprouts and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes.
Add the broth, reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 6-8 minutes or until the sprouts are just tender.
Stir in the dates and season to taste with salt and pepper.
