Combine the half-and-half, ½ cup sugar, flour, eggs, vanilla, and salt in a blender and blend on medium-high speed until fully combined. Let the batter sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Generously brush a 9-inch deep dish pie plate, baking dish, or cast-iron skillet with the melted butter. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar over the top of the butter.
Give the batter one quick pulse in the blender. Pour the batter into the prepared dish. Place the figs into the batter, cut side up. Sprinkle with the remaining ½ tablespoon sugar.
Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 375 and bake another 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
