15-ounce can cannellini beans

Optional Garnishes:

Instructions
Heat a large Dutch oven or large saucepan over medium heat and add the Italian sausage. Cook until brown and just cooked through.
Remove meat from pot and drain the drippings.
Add the oil to the pan and swirl to coat the bottom.
Add the onion, jalapeños (if using), and sweet potato and cook for 8 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Stir in the beer, scraping the bottom of the pan to loosen any browned bits.
Bring to a low boil. Cook until the liquid almost evaporates (about 10 minutes), stirring occasionally.
Stir in the pumpkin, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, and cinnamon.
Cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
Add the sausage back to the pan and then add the broth, tomatoes, beans, and salt.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1½ hours or until the mixture is thick.
Stir occasionally.
Taste for salt and add more if needed.
Spoon into bowls and garnish each bowl as desired.
