Wash and peel the pears, leaving the stalks. Pour cider and 3 tablespoons of honey into a large pot. Set over medium heat and add the pears when boiling. Reduce the heat and cook for 10 minutes.
Remove the pears from the cider and pat dry with a paper towel. Cut in half and place on serving plates. Top each with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a dash of honey, and a sprinkle of pecans.
