Cider Poached Pears with Ice Cream

Ingredients 

  • 4 pears, , washed and peeled
  • 4 cups (945 mL) cider
  • 5 tablespoons (75 mL) honey
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream, (regular or dairy-free)
  • 5 tablespoons (35 g) pecans

Instructions 

  • Wash and peel the pears, leaving the stalks. Pour cider and 3 tablespoons of honey into a large pot. Set over medium heat and add the pears when boiling. Reduce the heat and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the pears from the cider and pat dry with a paper towel. Cut in half and place on serving plates. Top each with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a dash of honey, and a sprinkle of pecans.
