A warm and comforting staple that is easy to to make the first time, and then simple to modify and make your own as time goes on.
Cheesy Grits Bar
Ingredients
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup gluten-free quick cooking grits
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon half-and-half
- 1 tablespoon butter
Toppings:
- ½ cup chopped green onions
- ½ cup grated cheddar cheese
- ½ cup chopped bacon
Instructions
- In a medium pot, bring the broth to a boil. Add the grits, stirring to prevent lumps. Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in the cheeses, half-and-half, and butter. Continue stirring for 10-15 minutes to ensure a creamy texture.
- Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with your toppings of choice.
Notes
Regular stirring will improve the texture of your grits and help even out the cheesy flavor.
