Five Ingredient Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Simple Ingredients, Maximum Joy

This recipe keeps things incredibly straightforward by using just five key ingredients you might already have on hand. There’s no need for complicated flour blends or gluten-free substitutes — just mix, bake, and enjoy. It’s a refreshing approach to gluten-free baking that still gives you that classic chocolate chip cookie experience.

The base ingredient brings rich flavor and natural binding power, while brown sugar adds sweetness and chewiness. Semisweet chocolate chips lend pockets of melty goodness in every bite, making these cookies truly indulgent even with a short ingredient list.

Why These Cookies Work

These cookies are perfect for anyone who wants quick results without sacrificing taste:

  • Fast and easy: Ready in about 15 minutes from start to finish, with minimal mixing and no special tools.
  • Pantry-friendly: Uses everyday ingredients you likely already stock, reducing the need for specialty items.
  • Gluten-free comfort: Offers the soft, satisfying texture you expect from a chocolate chip cookie, but without gluten.
  • Kid-approved: Simple and familiar flavors make these a hit with kids and adults alike.
  • Peanut-Free: Sunbutter give the peanut flavor without the peanuts!

Because this recipe skips elaborate techniques and components, it’s also a great way to introduce gluten-free baking to beginners or young bakers.

Tips for Best Results

For the most tender cookies, make sure your ingredients are at room temperature before mixing, and don’t overwork the dough so they bake up soft rather than dense. You can also slightly flatten the cookie dough before baking to achieve a more even shape and chew.

Want to change things up? Try stirring in a handful of chopped nuts or swapping semisweet for dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor. These simple tweaks still keep the ingredient count low while giving you a personalized twist on a classic.

The Perfect Anytime Treat

Whether you’re baking for an afternoon snack, a casual gathering, or just to make the house smell amazing, these five-ingredient cookies are a winner. They prove that gluten-free baking doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious — and they’ll disappear from the cookie jar long before anyone realizes how easy they were to make.

  4. Jennifer says:

the recipe says “vanilla” but the video had baking powder, I am guessing baking powder is correct, “power puffs” and “soda spreads” thanks for the chocolate chip cookie emergency solution!

    1. Gluten Free & More says:

      Jennifer,
Thank you so much you are very correct! It’s 1 teaspoon baking powder. However if you can afford 6 ingredients the vanilla gives an extra nice flavor. 1 teaspoon vanilla for peanut butter or 1 tablespoon if using Sunbutter.
      xo,
      Carol
