Simple Marinara Pizza

Ingredients 

  • 1 gluten-free vegan pizza crust
  • cups jarred tomato-basil sauce
  • 2 medium tomatoes, , cut into 1/8-inch slices
  • ½ cup fresh basil, , finely chopped
  • Nutritional yeast, , for topping (optional)

Instructions 

  • Bake the crust according to recipe instructions.
  • When done, remove the crust from the oven and top with the sauce.
  • Arrange the tomato slices on top of the sauce and return the pizza to the oven.
  • Bake for 5 minutes, then turn to broil and finish for 1-2 minutes so that the tomatoes start to char.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for 3-5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with fresh basil and nutritional yeast (if using).
  • Slice and serve.
