Dr. Pepper Sloppy Joes
Ingredients
- 1 pound extra-lean ground turkey
- 1 medium yellow onion, peeled and grated
- 1 red bell pepper, seeded and diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 1 tablespoon rice flour, or another gluten-free flour you have on hand
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon gluten-free Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup Dr. Pepper soda
- 6 gluten-free hamburger buns, toasted
Instructions
- Use a 4-quart slow cooker. Put the turkey into the cooker and add the onion, bell pepper, celery, and flour. Stir in the ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce until all the ingredients are well mixed. Pour the Dr. Pepper over the top. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours. Stir again and serve on toasted gluten-free hamburger buns.
