Basil Pesto

Ingredients 

  • cups pine nuts
  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 30-40 fresh basil leaves, about 3 ounces
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon kosher or fine sea salt, or more to taste
  • ½ cup filtered water

Instructions 

  • In a food processor or blender, blend all ingredients until a paste forms. If the pesto seems too dry, add a bit more oil or water. Taste and adjust salt, if desired.
