Rainy day comfort food made healthier
It’s been raining cats and dogs here in Florida (as usual in the summer months)! I don’t know about you, but when it’s raining – whether it’s cold outside or hot and humid – I often crave comfort foods. Unfortunately, if I satisfied those cravings with indulgent foods (breads, pasta and lots of carbs) every time it rained here, I’d be in pretty poor health. Luckily, I can quell my cravings for comfort foods with a healthier alterative: ParmCrisps and homemade tomato soup!
ParmCrisps, if you haven’t heard me raving about them yet, are delicious chips/crisps made of 100% Parmesan cheese. They come in Original and in many other varieties that have herbs and seasonings, like Jalapeño, Rosemary, Basil Pesto, and more. What’s great about these is that they contain 0 grams of carbs and 9 grams of protein per serving, making them a much better option than traditional crackers or chips. They are good for those on a Keto or grain-free diet, too.
ParmCrisps are available in Whole Foods and many major retailers across the country. Check in the deli section where specialty crackers and chips are available.
