Julia's Farms Spaghetti

Julia’s Farms Hearts of Palm Spaghetti

I think I speak for many of us gluten-free folks when I say that we’re constantly on the hunt for new gluten-free pastas. Sure, we may have our go-to favorite brands and styles, but it’s always nice to try new ones, especially ones made with unique ingredients. I personally think it’s the gluten-free community that’s to thank for the popularity of bean pastas, zoodles, sweet potato noodles, and more. The newest pasta on my radar, made with a unique ingredient, is Julia’s Farms hearts of palm spaghetti! Yes, you read that correctly. Hearts of palm … in spaghetti form! It’s available in jars and cans and is almost ready to eat as it comes. You simply drain it, add it to boiling water, boil for 2-3 minutes and drain. Then just serve it with your favorite sauce. It has a neutral taste but the texture works beautifully in traditional pasta recipes, with anything from tomato sauce to pesto to alfredo sauce and so much more!

Throughout the month of December you’ll get 15% off when you buy from their website!

These delicious liqueurs are great on their own, mixed into coffee, used in cocktails, and even in dessert recipes, too! Ziba Foods Mulberries

Ziba Foods Nuts & Dried Fruits

If you’re entertaining a small group of guests this holiday season or perhaps want to put together a gift package for a friend, family member, or coworker, might I suggest a characterize board theme? For the entertaining part, you simply put together a board of cheeses, nuts, dried fruits, and more. For the gift idea, you can gather up your favorite products like a bottle of wine and a nice selection of cheeses, nuts, and dried fruit, all wrapped in a cute gift basket. For the nuts and dried fruit, I suggest checking out Ziba Foods. Ziba produces heirloom and wild-grown nuts, dried fruits, and seeds. They have sun-dried figs, raisins, walnuts, dried apricots, dried white mulberries, and the best pistachios and almonds I’ve ever had. Ziba’s products come from Afghanistan, where they are sustainably harvested and grown with stable water supplies on multi-generational family farms and village co-ops.

Paleo Pro Mocha Mint Protein

Paleo Pro Protein Powder

On-the-go for the holidays or trying to get a jump start on those New Year’s resolutions to get healthier? Fill in the gaps of your diet with a good quality protein powder. Paleo Pro is great for those who can’t or don’t want to consume whey protein. It’s dairy-free protein powder that’s minimally processed and made with egg and beef protein, making it a well-rounded protein full of amino acids and all the good stuff you need in a protein powder. They offer protein powder in a variety of flavors. What I like about Paleo Pro is that it’s pretty light, whereas whey protein can be kind of dense and too filling. Plus, you get some of the benefits of bone broth without having to heat up actual bone broth and sip it. It’s like a 2-for-1 deal!

Starlite Cuisine Enchiladas Suizas

Starlite Cuisine GF, Vegan Enchiladas & Taquitos

Between the holidays, the rush of the season, and everything in between, it’s great to have some frozen meal options on hand for those busy days. Starlite Cuisine makes gluten-free taquitos and enchiladas so you can have a simple snack, lunch, or dinner. The great thing about these is they are vegan and plant-based, which means no bad-for-you processed meats for your kiddies. They’re also non-GMO, dairy-free, and free from trans fat and cholesterol. They do not contain added MSG, preservatives, or artificial additives. These are quick and easy and good for the whole family. (Please note that their rolled tacos are not GF; their taquitos and enchiladas are GF.)

Summerhill Dairy Goat Milk

Summerhill Dairy Goat Milk

Milk is an essential in my house, especially during the holidays with all the baking and cooking I’m doing! From pies to mashed potatoes to creamy soups and more, I use milk for baking and cooking quite often. What I like about goat milk, though, is that people who usually can’t have cow milk can often have goat milk, meaning the delicious foods I make with goat milk can be enjoyed by more of my guests. Goat milk has less lactose and different casein proteins than cow’s milk, making it easier to digest. Goat milk tastes a little different than cow milk when you drink it plain, but if you cook or bake with it, it’s basically the same in most cases. I have had it impart a unique undertone to some foods that guests actually loved, they asked what I used in the recipe because they couldn’t quite put their finger on it.

My favorite goat milk is from Summerhill Dairy, and they now make chocolate goat milk, too! Their goat milk is Certified Humane, which is always a plus when it comes to products that come from animals.

GF Prairie Cookies

Gluten-Free Prairie Hunger Buster Cookie & Oat Products

Gluten Free Prairie’s Hunger Buster Cookie is a great snack when you need something more substantial than chips or crackers, or when you want a grab-and-go treat on your way out the door. As the name suggests, it’s filling. It’s kind of like an energy bar in cookie form, and is made with wholesome ingredients like oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips, and raisins. What’s great about Gluten Free Prairie is that their oats are Purity Protocol, which means they are grown in clean fields (field that haven’t had wheat, rye, or barley grown in them for at least 4 years). Their farmers also use designated equipment to harvest the oats. And finally, the oats are processed in a facility that only works with these oats, so there is no cross contamination. This is great news for people who avoid oats due to the potential of cross contamination. Purity Protocol oats are the safest, so it’s possible to finally be able to eat oats again with Gluten Free Prairie’s products!
