MaryRuth’s Supplements

Certain populations of people, including those with celiac disease and people who are in their 50s or 60s or older, can have difficulty absorbing nutrients. Older people tend to also have difficultly swallowing larger pills, as do children. This is where liquid supplements are helpful. MaryRuth’s offers liquid multivitamins for women, men, and children. They also offer liposomal supplements. MaryRuth’s original mission when starting the company was to create wholesome supplements she felt great about giving to her own family. And now, you can feel great about giving them to yours, too! They even offer a couple supplements for pets.

Gluten-Free Prairie Products on a wooden table with blue napkin

Gluten Free Prairie Oats and Baking Mixes

If you haven’t been able to have oats because you react to them, know that oats can often be cross contaminated, so you might be reacting to traces of gluten that can get onto the oats from field to factory. Gluten Free Prairie is a favorite here at Simply Gluten Free because of the care and quality behind their oats and each of their oat-based products. Their oats are purity protocol oats, which means they are grown in clean fields that haven’t had wheat, rye, or barley grown in them for at least 4 years. Their farmers also use designated equipment to harvest the oats. And finally, the oats are processed in a facility that only works with these oats, so there is no cross contamination. Gluten Free Prairie offers oats, oat flour-based baking mixes, and these delicious Hunger Buster Cookies that are great for a filling on-the-go snack.

Superfree Bakehouse Brownies on a white plate with powdered sugar on top

Superfree Bakehouse

Superfree Bakehouse (formerly Olivia Superfree) is a delicious family-owned bakery that was born out of the need for a mom to make adjustments to the foods she and her kids ate, due to food sensitivities. She learned to create amazing baked goods without a bunch of ingredients: gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, corn, rice, potato, and coconut. Oh, and she made them vegan, too. They offer delicious cupcakes, brownies, and some everyday staples like loaves of bread. Superfree Bakehouse has a delicious variety that’s suitable for many different diets.

Dr Liia Epilynx Cosmetics on a glass pedestal

Epilynx by Dr. Liia Cosmetics

Makeup and cosmetics are little known sources of hidden gluten. Although the pores of our skin are much too small for the gluten protein to penetrate, many people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity avoid gluten in cosmetics because if it’s on your face or body, chances are it can end up making its way inside, whether through licking your lipstick or getting mascara in your eyes or getting topical products into cuts and blemishes on your face. That’s why companies like Epilynx by Dr. Liia are great for the gluten-free community. Dr. Liia herself has psoriasis and gluten sensitivity, so her makeup and skincare products are formulated to not just be gluten-free, but free from other harmful ingredients. Her makeup and skincare products are affordable and luxurious and include products like mascara, day cream, serums, and more.

Paleo Pro Protein Powder Scoop on a plate with party decorations in the background

Paleo Pro Protein Powder

Protein is important for everyone, whether you’re trying to build muscle at the gym or just want to maintain a strong body. Protein keeps you fuller longer, which means you’re going to snack less on carbs, sugar, or unhealthy foods. Paleo Pro can help you get in the right amount of protein if you’ve got a busy day and want to make a quick shake before or after the gym or in between errands. They offer multiple flavors of their protein powder, which is made from grass-fed beef and egg whites. They also have collagen powders and protein bars.

Mozart White Chocolate Liqueur on a silver background

Mozart Chocolate Liqueurs

Mozart Chocolate Liqueurs are decadent, flavorful liqueurs that are amazing on their own over ice, splashed into coffee, made into a cocktail, or even added to desserts. They come in a wide variety of chocolatey flavors: Chocolate Cream (original), White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Chocolate Coffee, White Chocolate Strawberry, and Chocolate Pumpkin Spice. There’s a flavor for every season, and more! Right now, I’m really feeling the White Chocolate added to coffee, but for Mother’s Day I can see the White Chocolate Strawberry being served with a few macarons after a meal. These fine liqueurs are made in Austria and have traveled to the States to please your palates, so don’t be shy, grab a glass! And check out their fun “choctails” on their website for drink inspiration.

LivOn Labs Liposomal Vitamin C in a shot glass

LivOn Labs Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C

If you didn’t already know this about celiac disease, it can make absorption of nutrients, particularly from supplements, difficult. This is especially true if you’ve only recently been diagnosed and are in the process of healing your intestinal lining or if your celiac disease isn’t well managed. Luckily, there’s a brand called LivOn Labs that makes what are known as lypo-spheric supplements. These supplements bypass the body’s usual route of digesting supplements and instead get absorbed and delivered where they need to go much easier. Their vitamin C is a favorite amongst the staff here.

Gem City Cupcakes

Gem City Fine Foods Desserts

If you’re looking for something rich and decadent to serve for Mother’s Day next month, I recommend a chocolate torte from Gem City Fine Foods. What’s great about all their desserts is that, although they’re decadent and feel sinful, you can rest assured knowing they are certified gluten-free. They are also nut-free and there are vegan and top 8 allergen-free options, too. One bite of a Gem City chocolate torte, cake, cupcake, or cheesecake and Mom will certainly be impressed. I seriously don’t know how better to end a Mother’s Day dinner than this – unless maybe you have their chocolate torte and some of that Mozart Chocolate Liqueur I just mentioned. Now that’s a brilliant idea!
