Dairy Free Mint Chip Hot Cocoa

As the weather gets colder, I love to cuddle up next to a warm mug of hot cocoa.  This Dairy Free Mint Chip Hot Cocoa celebrates the flavor of the season while still being allergen friendly. Relax from all the holiday stress and enjoy this drink with friends or just yourself!

To make this drink, you first heat up your milk of choice in a saucepan. Once it is warm you add the cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and sugar and whisk them all together until it is warm. Then stir in the peppermint extract. In your mug add two Homefree Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies and pour the cocoa on top. Stir to dissolve the cookies at the bottom. Then top your drink with whipped cream and a crushed up Homefree Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie.

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup oat, (or other) dairy-free milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ tablespoons dairy free chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¹/₈ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 3 Homefree Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies, , divided
  • Oat, (or other dairy-free) whipped cream

Instructions 

  • Heat milk in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once warm, add the cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and sugar. Whisk to combine and continue to heat until warm. Stir in the peppermint extract.
  • To a mug, add two Home Free Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies, pour in the hot cocoa, top with whip cream. Crush one Home Free Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie and sprinkle over the whipped cream.
  • Stir to dissolve the cookies on the bottom and enjoy!
