This Sunday is Easter and what could be better to serve for Easter than ham? This gluten free Pineapple Sriracha Ham recipe is most likely not your mama’s ham recipe but there is nothing wrong with shaking things up now and again.

The recipe starts with a spiral-cut ham, which is perfect for Easter – it’s so easy to prepare and serve. Ditch the glaze packet that comes with the ham (it may or may not be gluten free) and make your own sweet and spicy glaze with a mixture of pineapple, brown sugar, honey, and Sriracha sauce.

This dish looks pretty served with grilled pineapple slices alongside – an updated version of the pineapple-studded hams our mothers liked to serve.

Ingredients

  • 1 (6- to 8-pound) bone-in half spiral ham
  • 1 (20-ounce) can crushed pineapple, , undrained
  • 1 cup Wholesome! organic brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Wholesome organic honey
  • 1-4 tablespoons Sriracha sauce, (depending on how spicy you want the glaze)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 275°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet or roasting pan with foil. Place the ham, cut side down, on the pan and cover with more foil, sealing tightly. Bake for 10 minutes per pound.
  • While the ham is baking, make the glaze. Combine the pineapple, brown sugar, honey, and Sriracha in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a simmer and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and is syrupy, about 20-30 minutes.
  • When the ham is done baking, remove from the oven but leave the oven on. Remove and discard the foil and spoon the glaze all over the ham. Cook for another 30 minutes.
  • Transfer the ham to a serving platter and serve.
