Baked goods are some of my favorite things to make. You could practically taste the love that is put into them. The one thing I try and find are healthier recipes that I can bake because let’s be honest baked goods are not the most nutritious for you. Julia’s Healthy Banana Bread offers us the best of both worlds with having nutritional value as well as tasting delicious. This is our photographer, Julia’s, go-to healthy recipe, she loves to recreate her favorite recipes with healthier ingredients.

This recipe makes one loaf of banana bread. First, mix the flaxseed and the water together and let it sit. Then, you combine the bananas, maple syrup, olive oil, and Singing Dog Vanilla Alcohol-Free Pure Vanilla. Then, you combine all wet and dry ingredients together and put it in a pan, and bake for 40 minutes. This banana bread is so tasty you are sure to stick to this healthier version of banana bread.

Julia’s Healthy Banana Bread

Ingredients 

  • Gluten-free non-stick cooking spray
  • 2 tablespoons flaxseed meal
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 2 ripe bananas, , mashed
  • cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Singing Dog Vanilla Alcohol-Free Pure Vanilla
  • 1 cup gluten-free oat flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8 by 4-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine the flaxseed meal and water and let sit for 5 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flaxseed mixture with the bananas, maple syrup, olive oil, and vanilla. In another mixing bowl, combine the oat flour, cinnamon, and baking soda. Combine dry and wet ingredients and scrape the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 40 minutes or until browned and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
