Maple Ginger Pecans

Ingredients 

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter or dairy-free butter substitute
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 2×1 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and minced or grated
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼-½ teaspoon gluten-free hot sauce
  • 4 cups pecan halves

Instructions 

  • Preheat the oven to 300ºF.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, maple syrup, ginger, salt, and hot sauce.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Place nuts in a mixing bowl, add the maple glaze, and stir well to coat the nuts.
  • Pour onto the prepared baking sheet and spread into an even layer.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes or until dry, stirring every 10 minutes.
  • Let cool.
