SunButter Salted Chocolate Blondies
Brunettes are my personal fave (I may be a little biased), but they do say that blondes have more fun, right? So instead of brownies, I decided to whip up some blondies! SunButter Salted Chocolate Blondies, to be precise.
These treats are just sweet enough, allowing the chocolate and SunButter to shine without being overpowered by sweetness. SunButter is a go-to of mine when making treats to share because it’s a nut-free alternative to peanut butter.
I haven’t tried it, but I was thinking you could make these ultra-blondies (let’s call them platinum blondies) by using white chocolate chips instead of the chopped dark chocolate. Let me know in the comments below if you try this idea!
SunButter Salted Chocolate Blondies
Ingredients
- 1 ½ sticks unsalted butter
- ¾ cup Creamy SunButter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups gluten free flour blend
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 7 ounces dark chocolate , chopped
- Flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 by 12-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Combine the butter and Sunbutter together in a large heat-safe mixing bowl. Melt in the microwave or over a pot of simmering water. Stir until smooth. Add the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla and mix well. Combine the flour and baking powder, mixing well. Add to the Sunbutter mixture and stir well to combine. Place the batter in the freezer to cool for about 5 minutes or let cool at room temperature. Stir in the chocolate. Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and set. Let cool.
- Cut into bars or squares and serve. Can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
