Gluten Free Pomosa Recipe
I ran into a friend a while back and was blown away by how fantastic she looked. Always a pretty woman, she had recently lost about 15 pounds and her clothes looked amazing on her. When I asked what brought about the weight loss, she said that she had suffered from a breakup and was so distraught that she had lost her appetite.
Now I have lost a lot of things in my life. I lost my Rolex, I have lost my car keys so many times I have lost count (ha ha) and I even lost my son once. C’mon, don’t judge me. I was sleep deprived, hormonally imbalanced from giving birth to another one and the babysitter was supposed to be in charge. On second thought, I lost the other one once too so go ahead – judge me!
The point is, I have lost a lot of things but never, ever have I lost my appetite. In fact, with the exception of first thing in the morning, I am pretty much always hungry.
This is one reason I like brunch. I love breakfast food but am not hungry for it first thing. Brunch is perfect. Enough time to wake up, work up an appetite and enjoy all the yummy offerings.
The other reason I like brunch is that it is the one time when it is socially acceptable to consume cocktails before 5:00 in the evening.
The Gluten Free Pomosa Recipe is pomegranate juice and champagne. Since pomegranate juice is the new wonder drink, full of anti-oxidants and nutrition, I say this cocktail is not only socially acceptable but downright good for you!
Cheers!

Gosh, how did you do that? It looks pretty darn beautiful, I can’t seem to take my eyes off of it!
Appetite is one thing thatz been with me thick and thin… :)
I can’t seem to lose my appetite either. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad. More exercise, I say! Then you can eat without too much guilt :)
What a pretty, pretty drink! Great brunchy sort of drink for watching Sunday Morning Football tomorrow!!
Pretty drink, looks tasty! But where is the glass from? It’s GORGEOUS! Thanks!
I love your blog! I, like you, am always hungry. My roommate makes fun of me constantly because whenever he comes home I’m shoving something or another in my mouth. I’m defintely going to try that drink, it looks delicious!
You’re a hoot! :)
elegant, sophisticated and sexy! They definitely sum up this drink…perfect any time of the day, really!
Oh I just had a great time looking at your site. My cousin and good friend are gluten-free and I can’t wait to recommend your blog to them. In the meantime, I love it too, your photos are so crisp and lovely!
I really enjoy my reading here. Wonderful blog.
The drink is absolutely gorgeous.
Gorgeous photo! This looks amazing!
a breathtaking photo! i too am a huge fan of the powers of pomegranate :) thanks for sharing!
Too funny about losing your kids. I admit, I did too.
Even sick in bed I never loose my appetite. I’m one of those. Don’t know why.
i love the picture, not to mention the creation, but my favorite part of this post is the commentary–hilarious. i’ve never lost my appetite either, and here’s hoping we never do! :)
Would this be “inappropriate” to serve in a large chalice?
Slurp, slurp.
I sooo love your recipes and photos. Your blog is like dinner and a show!
What a wonderfully simple drink idea, I've never heard of it. I too am a brunch fan, but people always look at me crazy when I suggest IHOP. As much of a health freak as I am, I love IHOP, especially for brunch. Those HUGE omelets and those nut & grain pancakes are deadly! If only they served Pomosas…
Just came here from FoodBuzz.
You have a lovely blog and your pictures are very, very good.
As for my appetite, does desert me once in a while but not long enough to make a difference! :D
Love that picture! Looks like a lovely drink! And the appetite is one thing I’ve never been able to lose either…
I need to cut back on my starch breakfasts after reading what a 15 pound weight loss can do to a person.
This drink is just beautifully photographed and divine! Can’t wait to get home and try it tonight!
Yum! I love champagne and I love pomegranates – what’s not to love about this health drink?
I like a pomegranate martini too, with a hint of rosewater – but I guess that would be frowned on at brunch..

Do I have to wait for brunch? I think I'm gonna go have one right now!
where are these ‘flutes’ (glasses) from. I love them
Hi Lisa. I love them too! I got them years ago at COstco. Wish I had bought more because I only say thenm there that one time. Sadly!
Does anyone know where i can find that glass?
just saw the post above, lol… Do you know who made them or what the name of it was?
Hi. I so wish I did. All I know is they are Italian. If anyone finds them, let me kow! I want to buy a couple more dozen!
I love your glasses too! I tracked down some similar ones at Crate and Barrel (Verve flute) and CB2 (Selma flute). I personally like the Selma style and they are only $7!
Yay! I am going to check it out now!!! Thank you.

What type of champagne do you recommend?
Actually I like to use Processco, it is less expensive than real champagne. The one I like best is LaMarca.
