GreenPan Fried Egg Feature

New to gluten-free? Make GreenPan your new cookware

If you are new to gluten-free, listen up! Going gluten-free is a lifestyle change, not just a diet. It requires that you look at sources of hidden gluten, like your dish sponge, your cutting boards, and your cookware, and replacing those things to avoid cross-contamination. So, if you’re in the market for some new cookware because you’re new to gluten-free or even if it’s just time to replace that old standby that has peeling Teflon (NOT safe!) or that pan that’s warped or doesn’t heat evenly … GreenPan is a great choice.

GreenPan is a company that makes ceramic nonstick pans without the use of PFAS, PFOA, lead, or cadmium, meaning they never release toxic fumes when overheated and thus, are a healthier alternative to Teflon nonstick pans. GreenPan uses Thermolon, which is a non-stick coating made from a sand derivative. It’s applied to the pan and then cured in the oven using 60% less CO2 emissions compared to the curing phase of traditional nonstick coatings. This means that not only is it safer for you, but better for the environment and our carbon footprint. No wonder it’s called GreenPan!

GreenPan Fried Egg Recipe

I recently had the pleasure of cooking on these pans (I have a new, beautiful set!) and I did a few tests to challenge the nonstickiness (is that a word?) of these. Let me tell you … eggs, I think, are one of those foods that stick often – particularly scrambled eggs and that’s even if you use butter. I tested scrambled eggs and they came off the pan perfectly. I also tested over-easy eggs because another rule of thumb for a good pan is one that lets an over-easy egg slide and flip (you know, like the pros in the cooking shows do). Yep, it slid and flipped beautifully!
