Sweet & Spicy Ponzu Baked Chicken

To make this recipe you first start out by combining the Marukan Ponzu Premium Soy Dressing with Sudachi Citrus, honey, vegetable oil, Marukan Seasoned Gourmet Rice Vinegar, chili garlic sauce, and ginger in a small bowl. Then you season the chicken and place it in a bag with the marinade. Let the chicken sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes. Once the chicken is marinaded you transfer the chicken and marinade to a cast iron skillet and bake for 35-40 minutes. Then you garnish the chicken with some greens and serve the chicken over rice or noodles.

Sweet & Spicy Ponzu Baked Chicken
Ingredients
- ¼ cup Marukan Ponzu Premium Soy Dressing with Sudachi Citrus
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon Marukan Seasoned Gourmet Rice Vinegar
- 2-3 teaspoons chili garlic sauce (depending on heat level desired)
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 6 chicken thighs , bone-in, skin on
- Kosher or fine sea salt
- Black pepper
- 3 green onions , thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine ponzu sauce, honey, vegetable oil, vinegar, chili garlic sauce, and ginger. Whisk to combine.
- Pat chicken thighs dry and season on both sides with salt and pepper. Place in a large food storage bag, add the marinade, flip several times, and let sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes, flipping the bag several times.
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Transfer chicken and marinade to a cast iron skillet or baking dish skin-side down. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping the chicken over once. Place under broiler for 5 minutes until slightly charred around the edges. The chicken should have an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve with rice or noodles.
