Barenjager Honey Liqueur Arnold Palmer

Today, how about we dive into the backstory of a drink that’s as iconic as it is refreshing – the Arnold Palmer?  Picture this: it’s a hot summer day, and you’re in need of a cool, refreshing beverage (maybe with a little kick!). Well, look no further, because our updated version of the Arnold Palmer has got your back!

So, who exactly is Arnold Palmer, and why does he have a drink named after him? Well, let’s rewind to the 1960s, the era of Mad Men, mini-skirts, and, of course, my favorite – go-go boots!

Arnold Palmer wasn’t just any old golfer; he was a trailblazer in the world of golf, a true legend of the sport. But even legends need to quench their thirst, especially out on the scorching fairways. Legend has it that one day, Palmer asked his wife for a mixture of iced tea and lemonade to cool down during a golf tournament. And voila, the Arnold Palmer was born! And proof positive that home cooks can in deed become legends in their own right!

Before long the drink quickly caught on, spreading across the nation, and people everywhere were ordering Arnold Palmers by the pitcherful, whether they were at a fancy country club or their local diner.

Part of the magic of the Arnold Palmer lies in its simplicity. It’s not some fancy, over-the-top cocktail with a dozen ingredients you can’t pronounce. Nope, it’s just good ol’ iced tea and lemonade, perfectly balanced to hit the spot on a hot day. And in our case, spiked with a little Barenjager Honey Liqueur.

Cheers!
