Luckily, Little Northern Bakehouse has you covered.
Their website and social media platforms contain tons of mouth-watering photos for sandwich, hot dog, hamburger, and toast inspiration. That’s where I found the recipe below, which is perfect for an allergen- and vegan-friendly Super Bowl party appetizer.
The recipe gives you three gluten-free and vegan friendly options. (If the people at your party are meat eaters and can tolerate dairy, feel free to swap the vegan options for non-vegan ingredients, but because the company’s bread is vegan, they’ve made the recipe convenient for those on a plant-based diet.)
Before we get to the recipe, let me tell you a little bit about Little Northern Bakehouse. This company makes gluten free, non-GMO, plant-based, allergy friendly bread loaves, hot dog buns, and hamburger buns. All except one variety includes millet, making for an extra boost of nutrition.
If you don’t know what millet is, let me fill you in! It’s a naturally gluten-free ancient grain that is rich in iron, B vitamins, and calcium. It has a mild corn flavor and creates a light, moist, smooth texture to the bread and buns.

Gluten Free Vegan Pizza Bun Appetizers
Ingredients
Little Northern Bakehouse Millet & Chia Buns
Pesto Black Olive Pizza Buns
(for each bun)
½ tablespoon prepared basil pesto
1 tablespoon dairy free mozzarella-style shreds
½ tablespoon sliced black olives
2 grape tomatoes, sliced in half
Hawaiian Pizza Buns
(for each bun)
1 tablespoon marinara sauce
1 tablespoon dairy free mozzarella-style shreds
3 slices gluten-free vegan mini pepperoni, cut in quarters
1 tablespoon pineapple tidbits, drained
Veggie Lover’s Pizza Buns
(for each bun)
1 tablespoon marinara sauce or ½ tablespoon prepared basil pesto
1 large mushroom, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon diced peppers (assorted colors look pretty)
1 teaspoon finely diced red onion
2 slices gluten-free vegan mini pepperoni, cut in quarters
Directions
Spread sauce on a Millet & Chia Bun, followed by cheese and toppings. Bake at 350°F until warmed through and the cheese is melted and beginning to brown. Serve immediately.
