Top kid-friendly foods in my pantry

When my son and his wife need some time to themselves, they often drop the grandkids off to me for a pool day. That means I always need to have a well-stocked pantry with kid-friendly options. From breakfasts all the way to desserts, I need to be able to keep the kids satisfied while ensuring their parents don’t scold me for filling them up with the wrong foods! So here are a few of the newest and top kid-friendly foods in my pantry:

For Breakfast: Hip Chick Farms Chicken & Maple Breakfast Sausages

These ORGANIC sausages are free from gluten and other allergens and contain no refined sugars – just a hint of organic maple syrup. They are quick and easy and can help give the kids (and yourself) some delicious protein when it’s needed most. They are fully cooked and ready in minutes. They also have a couple other varieties, but these seem to be the favorite amongst the kids. Delish!

For Lunch: Gabriella’s Kitchen GabbyPasta

When hunger strikes in the middle of the day, I like to reach for one of these pastas for the little ones. They have 3 gluten free varieties – 2 of which are also dairy free. Packed with 15-21 grams of protein (depending on the variety) per package, this is a healthy convenience meal that will fill the kids up with nutrition and keep them full much longer than other convenience meals. The kids like the Butternut Squash Ravioli a lot!

For Dinner: Gluten Free Nation Dinner Rolls

I like to give the kids a dinner roll and some sort of spread if they get hungry before dinner is ready (or I serve them with dinner sometimes). These rolls are not only gluten free, but dairy free too. They have a delicious, fluffy texture that lends itself well to all sorts of spreads, butter, or even as small sandwiches. Since they come in a bag of 12, I like to keep a couple bags in the freezer and just thaw and warm a few at a time while I get the rest of dinner prepped and cooked.

For Dessert: Better Bites Bakery Do Bites

These little gems are amazing! They are small and perfect for an after-dinner dessert (one for the kids, two for you!) and they can be frozen, so you can always have some on-hand to thaw and eat. They come in 3 varieties – Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, and Sun Better (with a sunflower seed butter). They are little cookie dough bites that are free of all the major allergens and gluten, and they are just heavenly.
