Easy Gluten Free Mushroom Tart
It is not often that I am at a loss of words. Ask my husband, he will tell you.
But this tart – I hardly know what to say. Maybe because I am too busy munching away at it as I try to write. So let me just say this – sautéed wild mushrooms, creamy garlicky herb cheese, an herby, crispy gluten free crust. And dead simple to boot!

I love it when I can take my own recipe and make it even easier!
I first came up with this gluten free caramel apple tart for my daughter-in-law who wanted to learn some gluten free baking that was not too complicated. The original recipe is in my first book and requires that one start with pie crust.
Learning the basics of baking is always a great place to start – if you can make a great pie crust then the world of pies is at your feet. I am proud to say that my daughter-in-law has perfected her pie crust making skills!
But there are times when you just want to do something fast and easy. Just because you know how to do something well, doesn’t mean you always have to do it!

I recall seeing a recipe for a mixed nut tart some time ago and thought to myself – “what a great idea!” After all, I like nuts, I like tarts, what’s not to like about combining the two and coming up with a similar but gluten free recipe
I think that the recipe just used some mixed nuts right from the can. Good in theory but did you know that lots of canned or jarred mixed nuts contain gluten? I know, it makes me crazy (or should I say nuts?) too – what the heck is gluten doing in a can of nuts?
