Kay’s Naturals

I am going to let you in on a secret, I am a (gluten free) snacker. Yep, I love to snack. Sure meals are great and there is nothing I enjoy more than sitting down with my family for a lovely dinner but seriously, who can survive on just a measly 3 meals a day?

I need my snacks! But unfortunately snacks can tend to be filled with empty calories. {sigh}

Kays Gluten Free Cinnamon Toast PretzelI was sent a package of nutritious snacks from Kay’s Naturals to try.

Kay’s Naturals is a line of gluten-free, high protein, low fat snacks and cereals that can actually be considered “mini meals;” they are high in protein and fiber, low in carbohydrates and loaded with nutrients that were developed by a Doctor and food scientist. Dr. Kazemzadeh (or “Dr. Kay”, as he’s lovingly called!) developed this line to be helpful for diabetics, having been married to a woman with diabetes – and of course, all their products are gluten-free.

I loved many of the products I tried but the real taste test comes from the hubby and g-kids (and yes, the hubby does fall into the same category as the g-kids since in a lot of ways he is just like an 8 year old boy!) – would they eat them? OK, so I didn’t come right out and tell them that the Kay’s Naturals snacks were good for them.

In fact I told them not to eat too many of them so they didn’t fill up with “junk” before dinner. And then I just walked away. Well, when I came back, guess what? They were gone. And the g-kids looked guilty! Let me just say, they never look guilty when they eat broccoli!

Nutrition disguised as snacks?  Kind of brilliant!  Even more brilliant?  Gluten-free cinnamon toast pretzels!  I always knew snacking was the way to go!

Thank you Dr. Kay for all the healthy choices you have given us!!
