Brat burgers are one of those things my husband found one morning at the farmers market and immediately demanded I replicate. It’s a brat! No, a burger! It’s both!

Gluten-Free Brat Burgers Recipe

Ingredients 

  • pounds ground pork
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¾ teaspoon dry ground sage
  • 1 teaspoon kosher or fine sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon fresh rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon caraway seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper

Instructions 

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high. Mix all spices into meat and form four patties. Mixture may be wet. Place gently on the grill and cook for 3-5 minutes per side, until internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Notes

Serve in a lettuce wrap or grain-free bun (or homemade gluten-free pretzel bun if you’re not grain-free/Paleo) with caramelized onions, stone ground mustard, and sauerkraut for the full brat experience!
