Gluten-Free Beer & Cheddar Fondue

This Gluten-Free Beer & Cheddar Fondue is a delicious appetizer to share with friends and family at a casual dinner party.

Gluten-Free Beer & Cheddar Fondue
Ingredients
- ½ small yellow onion, , peeled and finely minced
- 1 clove garlic, , minced
- 8 ounces extra-sharp cheddar cheese, , grated
- 4 ounces Gruyere cheese, , grated
- 1 tablespoon gluten-free cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1 (12-ounce) bottle gluten-free beer
- ¼ teaspoon kosher or fine sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Raw vegetables, corn tortilla chips, and/or wedges of gluten-free French bread, for dipping
Instructions
- Use a 2-quart slow cooker. Put the onion, garlic, and cheeses into the slow cooker insert. Stir in the cornstarch and dry mustard. Crush the caraway seeds using a mortar and pestle and add to the pot. Pour in the beer.
- Cover and cook on low for 2-4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes or so, as the ingredients melt into each other and thicken. Add salt and pepper, to taste, before serving. Leave the slow cooker plugged in and turned to low while serving.
