Hatch and ParmCrisps snack for Game Day

Game Day snack inspiration

I hear rumors that a BIG football game is coming up in two weeks and I have a feeling some of you might need some snack ideas for the festivities!

In my experience, hosting Game Day watch parties is uncomplicated. You provide some type of hearty food like hamburgers or chili and then lay out snacks in the living room or wherever you have TVs playing the game. Guests can bring their own drinks and you can also provide a few basic drinks like beer (regular and gluten-free, depending on the guests you have over) and maybe a simple cocktail like a margarita (try these Ginger Beer Margaritas for something extra special!).

For snacks, I prefer to stick with items that can be served to a variety of guests – people who are not only gluten-free but perhaps are avoiding grains or are on the very popular Keto diet, for example. Chips and salsa are often a go-to for me, but rather than use regular gluten-free chips, this year I’ve opted for ParmCrisps. These are grain-free, Keto-friendly, and contain just a few ingredients (100% Parmesan cheese plus a couple herbs or seasonings, depending on the flavor). Parmesan cheese is also very low in lactose, so ParmCrisps can often be well tolerated by those with a lactose intolerance.

To make a simple salsa, I combine a can of Hatch Green Chiles (available in mild or hot) with tomatoes, garlic, onion, oil and vinegar, and a couple fresh herbs like cilantro. Making it fresh is simple and adds a little something special to a day that largely consists of eating pre-packaged foods. Another option is to make a Salsa Verde, which Hatch Chile Co. has a great recipe for here.

ParmCrisps are available in multiple flavors, including Original, Everything, Sesame, Jalapeño, and more. To pair with salsa, I recommend offering two varieties for guests – the Original or Sesame, and the Jalapeño for those who like more spice.

This Game Day, enjoy a nice ParmCrisps + Hatch Chile combo. I can’t promise your favorite team will win, but I can promise this combo will win over your guests!
